Math class
So we are at the point for our second exam and I am feeling a little better about this one. I know I have to study still but things are getting easier. This exam is over unit analysis and algerbric expressions. I have to go over my unit conversions again and practice some of the harder problems that we have on our practice exam. The onlt thing that I am afraid of is the story problems which can be some what tricky for me. I understand how to do the problems it is just pulling everything out of the story and putting it in the right place for the equation, that is where it always gets me. So I think over this weekend I will be studying for awhile. I really have to try to get a really good grade on this exam to make up for the quiz that I missed a couple of weeks ago. So if anyone has any tricks for an easier way to solve story problems like the ones in math 0833 the help would be great, it is nice to hear how other people do things everybody doesa things a little different and I feel the way the teacher does it is some what confusing. Thank You.

The last time I have taken math was last year in high school. The class was pre-calculus and I am sorry to say that I do not remember any of it so I can't really relate any of it to what you are studying now. I would say that doing problems over and over again always helped me. I am taking a business math course next semester as a refresher course so I do not forget everything going into college next year. I was sketchy about taking a math this year. I have always been good at math, which is kind of odd because a lot of people do not comprehend math very well, I am just one of the lucky few. I have had some really good math teachers throughout high school and even middle school so that is why I have been able to succeed so far in math. The reason I am nervous about taking a math now is because I do not know how the professors teach their classes. In high school, there was a lot of one on one contact with the teacher so I was able to comprehend it better and I am not sure how the professors will be here at Rhodes State. Although I am nervous about taking the class, I felt obligated to take it anyways so maybe next year will not be so hard on me. I chose business math because it has a lot to do with taxes, sales, and percents; which I am pretty good at. I also chose it because I felt that it would be a good refresher, but not so challenging that I would get lost and fell behind. I could ave taken a more challenging course but I did not want to fall behind and end up failing the class; if that is going to happen then I will save it for next year! Anyways, good luck on studying for your exam and on taking it.
ReplyDeleteThat's good! I really wish I was good at math, I just need to practice more and stay on top of things like you said falling behind. I did fall behind for a moment but I feel as if I have caught up to a point. I feel that you have nothing to worry about when it comes to the proffesors at school I have Mrs. Bullinger this semester and she is pretty cool. I cant understand the things she is teaching better than I did when I was in high school. I had pretty good teachers in high school as well but I didn't really care to pay attention back then and I am regreting it a lot now. It is good that you want to take a refresher course not to many people would want to do that. I think its a great idea, I am pretty much in a refresher course being in intro to pre algebra but so far it is working in the begining the problems were really easy almost stupid but in the end it was still nice to go back over everything. We are now starting to get into the harder stuff which I don't like but
ReplyDeleteif I just stay focused and practice the problems over and over I think I will get the hang of it. Good luck to you as well.
