Hi, I'm Harold
I am going to school for Manufacturing Engineering. I also work full-time at DTR Ind. in Bluffton. I haven't worked in a factory as long as some people, but i feel i have worked in one long enough to know I want to be the person that can make their lives better by helping to engineering more efficient and ergonomically correct machines. To less-in the work load and bodies of  the machine operators. I really enjoy learning everything I can to help me be able to succeed at this, even the the difficult parts. I am taking a digital circuits class this semester and I feel it is going to be one of my hardest classes. I never knew what the binary code was let alone what is was used for or in. It is very complex and confusing to me right now but for some reason I'm still intrigued and really wanting to learn it. I,m very excited to see what lie's ahead.

  1. Harold, I think what you are doing is great. Being a full time student while also working a full time job sounds like a lot to handle. Especially working in a factory to top it all off. I am tired enough when I get out of school I couldn't imagine still having to work a full time factory job after that. Im sure you will get the hang of the digital circuits class, just keep putting in the hard work and it will all pay off in the end. If you find your self having a hard time understanding something I would not hesitate to ask some one else in the class or even an instructor. In my short time here at Rhodes I have found every one easy to talk to and eager to help out when they can. As long as you keep up the positive attitude Im sure you can overcome any setbacks and achieve your goal.

  3. Hi Herold :) I think that it is really awesome how passionate you are about your future career as an engineer. It is also neat to hear that you work in Bluffton because I live just outside of Bluffton. I like the fact that you want to push yourself to try and make others lives better and easier. I am glad to hear that people are willing to work harder and learn more to make other peoples lives simpler because there are not a lot of people out there willing to work and push themselves because people are just so lazy these days and they do not want to do anything that does not directly affect them. I feel the same as you, I am just post secondary this year, however, I want to go to college to help people not just to get as rich as I can (even though that is a nice benefit.) I am excited to continue my college education and further my knowledge to make peoples lives better.
